Thank you for using ZapLog ("ZapLog" or "we"). We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.

1. Information Collection

Photo Library Access

ZapLog accesses your Photo Library to read payment screenshots for OCR text recognition. We only access photos when you actively open the App.

We never upload your photos to any server. Photos are used solely for on-device text recognition and are released from memory immediately after processing.

OCR Text Recognition

Text recognition (amounts, merchant names, etc.) from screenshots is performed locally on your device using Apple's Vision Framework. The recognition process is entirely offline and is never sent to any external server.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or phone number
• We do not collect your location information
• We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
• We do not use any advertising networks

Anonymous Usage Analytics

To improve the app experience, ZapLog collects the following anonymous usage data:

• Event type (app launched, OCR completed, settings visited, etc.)
• Anonymous device identifier (random UUID — cannot be linked to your Apple ID or identity)
• App version number

This data does not include your photos, merchant names, amounts, or any personal information. Data is sent via encrypted connection to a server located in the United States for product improvement purposes.

User Feedback

When you voluntarily submit feedback within the App, the text you enter and your optional email address will be sent to our server. This information is used solely to respond to your feedback and is not used for any other purpose.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used solely to:

• Recognize amounts and merchant information from screenshots
• Generate your personal expense records
• Provide monthly and yearly statistics and charts
• Export data to CSV when you actively trigger it

3. Data Storage

• Expense data: Stored as encrypted JSON files in your device's local Documents directory
• Settings: Stored in iOS UserDefaults (local only, never uploaded)
• Merchant learning data: Stored in iOS UserDefaults (local only, never uploaded)
• We never send any personal information to external servers
• You can delete all data at any time from within the App

4. Information Sharing

We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to any third party.

5. Advertising & Tracking

ZapLog does not include any third-party advertising SDKs and does not use any behavioral tracking tools.

6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Delete all data: Settings → Delete All Records
• Revoke photo access: iOS Settings → ZapLog → Photos → Off
• Export data: Settings → Export CSV
• View data: Direct access from the main App interface

7. Children's Privacy

ZapLog is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Policy Updates

If we make significant changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you prominently within the App. Please review this page periodically.

9. Legal Compliance

This Privacy Policy complies with the following regulations:

• China Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL)
• China Cybersecurity Law
• GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation, if you are located in the EU)
